Refrigeration Engineer, Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME)

Key job responsibilities
Provide field support for refrigeration sites across assigned geography, including support for operations, field maintenance, and food safety partners.
Manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously, influencing and developing relationships at all organization levels.
Oversee the maintenance acceptance for commissioning large‑scale, complex projects.
Provide leadership and mentoring to facilities maintenance leadership and operations teams.
Be involved in the design review process across North America, providing guidance and professional recommendations on equipment standardization procurement to leverage scale, cost‑saving opportunities, and to standardize maintenance activities.
Possess a deep understanding of refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting, design, and repair.
Familiarity with low‑GWP refrigerants, pending regulatory requirements, and design changes.
Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical audiences.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
Experience in troubleshooting installation, fault finding, and repairs
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls
Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree
Experience in design, start‑up, construction, and/or commissioning of CO2 refrigeration systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $217,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
