About Us
The AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) department requires an engineer for the EGSE Definition and Operational unit. This unit manages automated test benches (EGSE) that test and validate satellites and space systems during all test phases up to launch.
About the Job
In this role you will operate EGSE and support various AIT test phases during the project life. The working site is Torino; you will also travel abroad during external test campaign phases (≈ 1 year in Europe) including launch campaign (≈ 3 months in USA). Shift work (24 h/7 d) may be required, and travel abroad is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities

Support definition and procurement of EGSE components, writing specifications and following suppliers.
Write EGSE documentation (e.g. design and development plan, installation and commissioning procedures).
Manage and maintain fully operative hardware and software of EGSE during all AIT activities up to launch campaign.
Participate in design/development of test support software (e.g. basic libraries, post‑processing and analysis tools).
Prepare and maintain satellite database on EGSE.
Analyze EGSE malfunctions, issue NCRs, manage suppliers to resolve issues, support and conduct troubleshooting and analysis for anomalies.
Install EGSE and execute commissioning/validation procedures at all foreseen external sites.

About You – Education
Master’s degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering preferred. Other master’s degree considered if required skills are met.
Skills and Knowledge

Good knowledge of analog and digital electronics design and testing.
Proficiency with Linux and Microsoft operating systems as administrator.
Strong knowledge of LAN network design, installation, troubleshooting, protocols (TCP/IP, RDP, SSH), firewall configuration, packet routing.
Good knowledge of C and a scripting language.
Basic knowledge of data bus protocols, database.
Practical experience using laboratory instruments (multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, electronic load).
At least English B2 overall level required.

Preferred Knowledge

Telecommunication and radio frequency design.
EGSE architecture and main components.
Satellite/Space System electrical architecture and typical component/subsystem functions.
Satellite data buses (1553, CAN bus, Spacewire) and ESA Telemetry/Telecommand CCSDS/PUS packet standards.
Real‑time systems and embedded/distributed architectures, parallel programming.
Advanced SW design and development.
Programming languages: C++, Java, TCL, bash, C#, Python, QT framework.
Windows or Linux certifications.
Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent.
Fluent English (C1).
