We are looking for a passionate Shoes Retail Merchandising Specialist to join the Merchandising team in Milan. As this specialist, you will serve as the bridge between Collection Merchandising, Markets, and several corporate teams, ensuring that the collection assortment and representation in the network meets business objectives while staying true to the brand’s identity and vision.
Responsibilities
Buying Strategy & Assortment Planning: Drive the global retail buying approach for the Core category, ensuring consistency with brand vision, product direction, and commercial goals in close collaboration with Collection Merchandising.
Define the OTB by category/shape, supporting regions in building a bottom‑up plan driven by distribution logic and strategic projects.
Develop tailored assortment strategies by store cluster, client segmentation, and regional characteristics.
Collection Review & Buy Readiness: Organise and facilitate pre‑buy sessions and collection presentations with regional counterparts (Buying, Retail, VM, Brand) and oversee the master order rollout to regional teams.
Worldwide Buying Alignment: Review, consolidate, and approve regional buy inputs in line with the global assortment strategy and serve as the primary liaison for regional merchandising teams.
Commercial Performance & Analysis: Assess global retail performance metrics (sell‑in/sell‑out, sell‑through, SKU efficiency, inventory health) and propose actions to optimise assortment and in‑season decisions.
Track product lifecycle and support re‑merchandising initiatives to maximise full‑price sell‑through across channels and markets.
Market/Store & Consumer Intelligence: Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback from markets to uncover local demand, customer behaviour, and growth opportunities, and ensure structured feedback loops with central teams.
In‑Season Optimisation: Define and execute in‑season levers (rebalancing, replenishment, stock optimisation) to drive sales and mitigate inventory risk, collaborating with Supply Chain and Production.
Cross‑Functional Partnership: Work in close alignment with Visual Merchandising to translate product strategy into effective in‑store execution and support Brand, CRM, and Training teams.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in retail merchandising, preferably within the fashion industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
Analytical and product‑driven mindset with an understanding of the luxury footwear market.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable plans.
Proficiency in retail systems and software (e.g., Power BI) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Confident public speaker, fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Deep understanding of the luxury customer and market dynamics.
Strong sense of brand belonging and aesthetic sensibility.
