Job Title: Site ManagerReporting to: Project ManagerRole PurposeThe Transmission & Distribution Sector is currently thriving as the Government looks to ensure that the infrastructure is in place to take advantage of the growth in the Renewable Energy Sector.Omexom are a partner of SSE on the ASTI Framework and Pathway to 2030 is a key part of this, being the hub for several other schemes feeding into the Grid.The Construction Manager is a pivotal role and will manage all specified works on electrical substations ensuring delivery on time to the required standards.Initially the position will be on a hybrid basis although attendance will be required at other locations such as site, Perth, Glasgow or as required.The Site is Emmock 400kV Substation.They will assist the senior management team with delivery of the project and be a main point of contact daily for the client.The postholder will be responsible together with his site team for ensuring site safety and ensuring quality processes are implemented for all works.This is an ideal opportunity to work on a prestige large project for a Tier 1 Contractor with a visible path of progression to Project Manager. Omexom encourage and support their staff to develop and maximize their potential.Responsibilities & DutiesIncluding but not limited to the following:Acting as customer lead for the site management of projects and ensuring the daily delivery of site worksBe fully conversant with the Works Information and Scope of WorksManage and deal with Change Management in line with NEC 3 requirements, liaising closely with the project commercial teamOrganise and attend progress meetings and prepare minutes if requiredProvide key information to the Project Manager to include in the Project Manager’s reportsEnsure that the site manager is maintaining a precise and accurate daily site diary including resource, program, photos, weather, materials, H&S, issues, or any information required by the Project ManagerUndertake line management of supervisors and sub-managersEnsure that the works are undertaken in line with the Omexom Project Delivery ProcessEnsure all site records, communications etc. are stored on the Omexom internal Information Management SystemOverall responsibility for the management of all site activitiesOrganise, lead and minute pre-start, progress, and handover meetings with all subcontractorsAssist the Project Manager and P6 Planner in the weekly update of the Clause 32 Contract ProgramManage the look ahead’s required and issue "look ahead" programs as deemed required by the Project ManagerResponsible for management of the construction, maintenance, fitting and wiring of substation plant and equipmentManage a team of supervisors, engineers, and sub-managers dailyFully manage and plan site activities to ensure safety, cost and quality are maintainedFollow all published guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure satisfactory completion of workAssist the Commercial Team in preparing applications for payment, additional works submissions and cost reviewsEnsure all works are undertaken in compliance with project design and construction documents (drawings, RAMS, lift plans)Working closely with the Project Manager for successful project deliveryDeliver scheduled/unscheduled work safely, ensuring quality standard in accordance with work scopePlan and manage with the PM the resource levels on site in line with Program requirementsAssist procurement and PM in managing site-based orders and materialsUndertake weekly/monthly site safety audits along with the site manager, record and upload to IMSSet up and maintain a Non-Conformance RegisterAttend community engagement and stakeholder meetings if requiredLead and manage all aspects of site construction, H&S, and environmentPlan, manage, attend and record OPS daily briefings, ensuring they are completed and uploaded to IMSEnsure full compliance with the CDM Regulations with the HS DeptOrganise and lead the Safe Contractor processConsider environmental aspects and impacts when preparing operations documentationProactively manage health and safety issues, ensuring accident and incident free cultureEnsure all plant and equipment is ordered efficiently and in a timely mannerComplete all site paperwork accurately and to timeTake responsibility for your team whilst on site for safe and efficient implementation of operationsAppoint direct supervision for work partiesEnsure site check sheets and ITP schedules are completed satisfactorilyProvide mentoring for nominated staffEnsure site induction is updated regularlyEnsure all persons attending site are inducted and competentEnsure all lifts are planned on siteEnsure all site plans are correct and updated regularlyEnsure all works have been risk assessedEnsure compliance with SSE’s 5 golden rulesEnsure the site manager keeps an accurate skills/competency matrixEnsure the site manager completes daily & weekly inspections/auditsComplete a monthly report capturing progress, commercial, SHESQ and issuesEnsure welfare is maintained and site complies with CDM regsAssist with recruitment of site managers/site supervisorsEncourage and promote a safe working environmentReview design deliverables where applicableAttend/participate in outage planningReview construction must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on TSO substation sites operating from 132kV to 400kV.Must also possess:Proven site management history with ability to execute critical tasks in real timeSMSTS QualificationCSCS Black Card or equivalentKnowledge of NEC 3 suite of contractsFamiliarity with P6 or MS ProjectSound knowledge of H&S and risk assessmentsAbility to plan works efficientlyAbility to manage and motivate industrial staffAbility to put the customer at the centre of decision makingAbility to engage at a detailed level with key tasksPersonal integrity, resilience
