What You’ll Do

Collaborate daily with our CTO to support and scale technical and operational initiatives
Act as a bridge across departments: engineering, design, HR, customer success, finance, and marketing
Own our Authorization Models — RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC experience is a must
Help design, implement, and improve internal tools, workflows, and documentation
Tackle technical tasks or coordinate with dev teams as needed
Participate in high‑level strategy and planning, while handling hands‑on execution
Absorb cross‑functional knowledge and gradually own more responsibility
Contribute to scaling our infrastructure, systems, and team culture as we grow

Who You Are?

4+ years in a technical role (engineering, DevOps, product tech)
Strong generalist mindset, ready to grow across functions
Highly organized and proactive, thrives with autonomy
Excellent communicator across technical and non‑technical teams
Passionate about startups, tech, and education
Fluency or working proficiency in Italian and English

Must‑Have Technical Skills
Authorization Models (MUST)

Production experience with RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC
Strong understanding of access control patterns and logic
Hands‑on with CASL (frontend/backend)

Core Backend & System Architecture

NestJS microservices (20+ in production)
Microservice design patterns: API Gateway, BFF
Redis caching (DB and gateway level)
RESTful API development

Cloud & DevOps

Google Cloud Platform (App Engine, Pub/Sub)
Infrastructure scaling, monitoring, Linux, Bash & Python
Secure API design, authenticated communication flows

Data & Streaming

Real‑time pipelines: MongoDB, GCP Functions, Pub/Sub
BigQuery, Google Cloud Dataflow (Apache Beam + Python)
Stream processing, fault tolerance

Testing & QA

Apidog, Playwright, Chromatic, BrowserStack
CI test integration, visual regression testing

Frontend Awareness

Vue/Nuxt integration, REST APIs
Knowledge of design tokens and scalable component libraries
Tools: Figma, Token Studio, Supernova

Bonus / Advanced Skills

Media processing: FFmpeg, cloud rendering APIs
Workflow automation: Make.com
Real‑time systems: Socket.IO, TCP communication
AI integration: GPT APIs, prompt engineering, schema versioning
Stripe & 100ms APIs (payments & video conferencing)
Mobile dev (Flutter, React Native, or native)
Scrum + ClickUp or similar tools
Fluent/working proficiency in Italian
Previous experience in early‑stage startups or EdTech

Contract Details
Work Schedule

Time Zone: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Italy time)
Team: International, remote‑first

Compensation

$28.00 – $35.00/hour
40+ hrs/week, Contract‑to‑Hire via Upwork
Paid overtime for emergency or urgent projects
